Internships and Volunteering


Internship Programme (2 positions) - Early December 2015 for up to six months

The UNICEF Office of Research – Innocenti offers the opportunity of 2 Internships for eligible/qualified students. See Terms of Reference (ToRs) for more detailed information. 

To be considered for these Internships applicants must meet the following requirements:

1) Be enrolled in a degree programme in an undergraduate or graduate school.  (Undergraduate student who completed at least 2 years of full time studies at a university (or equivalent) towards the completion of an undergraduate degree is eligible to apply for internship at UNICEF)

2) Be proficient in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages: English, French or Spanish and fluent in the working language of the office they are applying to;

3) Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records; and;

4) Additional consideration will be given for any past work experience.

General Terms and Conditions:

- Internships are unpaid

- Travel costs, accommodation and living expenses to be covered by the intern or the sponsoring entity

- UNICEF accepts no responsibility for medical insurance or costs arising from accidents/illness during the internship period

Application documentation:

Completed application form with supporting documentation (P11, proof of enrolment in an undergraduate or graduate programme, up-to date university transcript, and two letters of recommendation by former employer and/or university). 

Upon acceptance: Signed “Statement of Understanding of Interns Conditions” and Proof of medical insurance coverage

Please keep in mind that even if you meet these qualifications, there is no guarantee of placement. Due to the high number of applications received in UNICEF, we will not be able to respond to each and every application
