New release of TransMONEE database

The 2008 version of TransMONEE database is now available for immediate download. TransMONEE contains information on social and economic issues relevant to the well-being of children and young people in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The data are updated annually through an ongoing collaboration between the National Statistical Offices in the CEE/CIS countries, the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre and the UNICEF Regional Office for CEE/CIS.
TransMONEE can be used by a wide range of audiences, from educational institutions, researchers and experts, to international organizations, governments and non-governmental organizations. A total of 164 economic and social indicators are presented, divided into the following 10 topics: Population; Natality; Child and Maternal Mortality; Life Expectancy and Adult Mortality; Family Formation; Health; Education; Child Protection; Crime; the Economy.
The 2008 edition of TransMONEE includes data for the following countries:
Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
