The Innocenti Social Monitor, first produced by the MONEE project in 2002, has partially replacing the eight Regional Monitoring Reports of 1993-2001. Its purpose is to review social and economic trends in the 27 countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States and to influence policy debate on children’s rights and well-being. Annually updated information on a large range of indicators of children’s social and economic well-being is collected from a consolidated network of researchers and national statistical offices in the 27 countries in the region. The Innocenti Social Report replaces the thematic focus of the Regional Monitoring Reports, forthcoming is a report on children with disabilities in the region.
