Monitoring child poverty through household consumption measurement in Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS )

The project is set up to refine the methods of identification of the poorest and the most deprived through new data collection methods, thereby contributing to the equity agenda. A partnership with SMS, the MICS team and DPS, it aims to integrate all aspects of child well-being into a single survey instrument at the same time allowing the identification of financially poor families in low- and middle-income countries. In 2013 a pilot is proposed to test the survey instruments, the measurability of the underlying (new) concepts and the viability of new data collection methodologies.
