The Ottawa and Bangkok Charters: from principles to action. International Conference for the Evaluation of Global Strategies on Health

These Conferences call representatives of United Nations and experts about Networks and Projects of Public Health and Health Promotion, leaders in the application of the Ottawa Charter strategies - to reexamine the main actions taken and the results with the intention of evaluate and provide ideas for future strategies, considering Ottawa inspirational principles (multiple and changing health determinants, political integration, inter-sectoral strategy, right to health and to healthy environment, equal opportunities for all, sustainable development and the social participation).
The first day will focous on on children's health and environment in relation and the eco-social-economic determinants recognizing the need of investing in the future of society assuring a healthy environment for healthy children.
The second day will treat health promotion evaluating the results of policies and strategies applied in the 20 years after the Ottawa Charter and searching possible future development.
A reserved workshop will be held on the third day for the elaboration of operative instruments to be implemented in the near future and at the service of the strategies planned and emerged during the 1st and 2nd day of the conference.
Participants: The participation to the Conferences is reserved to invited representatives of WHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNEP, UNDP, International Networks and Programmes of Public Health and Health Promotion, WHO Collaborating Centres on Health Promotion; responsibles (politicians and technicians) of Health and Environment Ministries and Departments from the South and the North of the World; experts; Representatives of NGOs.
