Iolanda Genovese

Research Officer

Iolanda Genovese recently joined the UNICEF Office of Research - Innocenti as Research Officer on the Migration Programme. She holds an MSc from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London in Violence, Conflict and Development, and has technical expertise and operational experience in the protection of refugees and IDPs. Most recently, Iolanda led child protection programmes for unaccompanied minors (UAMs/UASCs) in Sicily as part of the migration crisis response in the Mediterranean for various non-government organisations. Iolanda has experience in field-based research on internal displacement and urban refugees and has worked with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Kenya and Italy. She also has lengthy experience running development and humanitarian programmes in Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya and Peru.
