Note:
Every two years, the Committee on the Rights of the Child is required to submit to the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), through the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), reports on its activities. The General Assembly is one of the six principal organs of the UN. It is essentially a deliberative, supervisory and reviewing organ of the UN. Article 10 of the Charter of the UN provides that the General Assembly may discuss any questions or any matters within the scope of the Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any of the organs provided for in the Charter and may make recommendations to the Members of the UN or to the Security Council or to both on any such questions or matters. The General Assembly consists of all the States Members of the UN and meets in regular annual sessions.
