Thomas Wells Dreesen
Thomas most recently worked for UNICEF New York in the Education Section where he led work on evidence generation across multiple education innovation partnerships. In this role he supported multiple country offices and implementing partners in improving M&E systems and developing evidence to inform their education programmes. Prior to UNICEF, Thomas was based in India as a Research Manager for Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) at the Harvard Kennedy School where he managed research programmes focusing on financial inclusion, and the improvement of large government social policies. He also worked as a Senior Research Associate for the Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) South Asia, where he managed a large randomized control trial studying women’s financial inclusion. Before his work in India he was researcher at the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) in Dhaka. Thomas holds an M.S. in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco, and a B.A. in International Economics and Finance from Ryerson University.
