Bernadette Rai
Planning and Monitoring Specialist
Bernadette was appointed as the Planning & Monitoring Specialist.
Over the course of the last 20 years Bernadette has been working in the social sector and in development programming with focus on children and women, particularly in the area of programme planning, monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management.
For the last 13 years, she has been with the UNICEF India Country Office, in the PME section at both national and field office level, working with a wide range of partners, namely, the Government (mainly with civil registration and vital statistics, census operations, planning, social welfare, and decentralised local governance institutions), civil society organizations, UN agencies and bilateral funding organizations.
Prior to joining the UNICEF family, Bernadette was with the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the ombudsman institution on child rights of Government of India, and NGOs such as Plan International and National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People.
