Nilam joined UNICEF’s Office of Research – Innocenti in May 2020 as a Knowledge Management (Research) Specialist. She is working with the Research Facilitation and Knowledge Management unit on projects to assess and inform research governance, research uptake and open access/open data mechanisms within UNICEF. She has experience in promoting the use of open access and open data within low-resource settings and in designing and delivering training on academic writing using plain language techniques. She has also designed and delivered research uptake strategies and trainings to help programmes share their research evidence widely, including developing research and policy briefs and monitoring research impact. Before joining UNICEF, Nilam worked as a knowledge management advisor, researcher, evaluator and trainer on projects for WHO, British Council, DFID and AuthorAID/INASP. She has a PhD from the University of Leeds and an MSc from the University of Bradford.
